Review : Love on Lavender Island by Lauren Christopher

Love on Lavender island was a 4 star read for me.  It is the second book in a series, but can be read as a standalone.

A relationship 16 years in the making and it is a bumpy road to the finish line.  Adam and Paige grew up together.  Paige always had a crush on Adam, but Adam never seemed to notice Paige.

When Paige's grandmother passes away, Paige goes back to the island to hopefully get Adam to help with her plan to host a celebrity wedding so she can get a role in an upcoming movie.  When Adam gives in and helps Paige they start to form a bond and relationship.  When mothers, daughters and fires, and old stories are told and get in the way of the two of them figuring out what is going on between them, all hearts are broken.  It takes friendly neighbors, a beautiful talk with a daughter and letters for them to see what they have.

This book was more than just a relationship budding.  It was about the sense of community.  Also about the doubts of being good enough for anyone and the feelings of wondering if you are a good enough parent.  This was a light read.  A bit of a slower pace but it was well written and well thought out.
