Review : Shut Out by Kelly Jamieson

***ARC Provided by the Author for an Honest Review***

This story revolves around Skylar and Jacob, two sophomores at Bayard College.

Our lead male Jacob is Canadian, sent to Bayard as an opportunity to start a fresh. A terrible misunderstanding / mistake from the previous year, forces Jacob into a position to put more concentration on his education and training and less on the social.

Skylar, our lead female, spent a part of her freshman year in a really bad place, thus seeing her failing more than one of her classes. When her best friend committed suicide, she found herself lost. Putting pressure on herself, she starts her sophomore year with a new resolve, one that sees her trying to live up to her parent’s expectations and under the shadow of her older sister.

Both Skylar and Jacob have points to prove, people to impress and expectations to uphold, but they are both harboring secrets.

The chemistry (and of course the sex) between these two is explosive and you fall in love with both of them and their struggles to find their way. I loved how well written the book was and how much detail went into story line to keep it’s reader enthralled until the end.

It does deal with the problem of sex and how it is perceived in a College environment, which I found refreshing as it not only touched on the love story of our lead characters but also a problem that needs to be addressed.

I have no doubt you will enjoy it as much as I did.

This is a five star review from me.
