Review : The Protector by Jodi Ellen Malpas

***ARC PROVIDED BY AUTHOR FOR AN HONEST REVIEW***

If ever there is an author that knows how to write a strong alpha male its Jodi Ellen Malpas and her new book ‘The Protector’ has another great sexy and strong alpha male for us to sink our teeth into. This is a romantic suspense that have you entranced right up until the end, 4 stars for Jake and Camille’s story.

Spoilt rich kid without a care that has no regard for other is basically who Camille was but after her latest stint in rehab she has come to reevaluate what is important in life. The former party girl is keen to show that she is no longer going to free load off of her fathers wealth and is determined to establish herself with her own clothing line.

Camille is shocked to discover that death threats have been made against her because of the deals her father has made. In order to protect her Camille’s father hires a body guard to stay with her and so Jake Sharp, former military sniper enters her life.

Jake is former military and suffers from PTSD. He has been avoiding his inner demons by distracting himself by doing job after job and when he is not working he districts himself by having sex an lots of it. This avoidance tactic will never last though but it is working for him at present.

what should have been a relatively easy babysitting job for Jake turns tougher as the attraction between him and Camille heats up. What is initially just a job like any other turns into more as Jake has a burning need to protect Camille as she becomes to mean much more to him than just a client. She also has a way of calming everything around him and making I'm feel so much better.

Camille also never thought she would fall for the bodyguard that she has such push and pull relationship with. There is instant attraction, I mean how could there not be with two immensely sexy characters but they don't come together straight away. However when they do unite it is extremely hot and once is ever going to be enough for either of them.

This is a book full of suspense as despite the attraction and heat of the two main characters there is also the story of why they are together in the first place. Camille’s life is threatened and she needs protection and Jake will do just that but for me there was maybe not enough of Jake and Camille together and I would have loved to have known them better. Overall though it was still a great book and many will love it.
