Review : After You Were Gone by Alexis Harrington

***ARC WAS PROVIDED BY THE AUTHOR FOR AN HONEST REVIEW***

Writing: Good
Violence: Some
Sex: Some
Narration: 3rd Person Narration Alternating POV

‘After You Were Gone’ by Alexis Harrington is a standalone suspenseful romance with a sweet HEA written by Alexis Harrington.  I enjoyed this book in that it incorporated a little bit of mystery along with a little romance.  I find this combination to give a book more depth...something more than just the romance.  The suspense kept my brain engaged in trying to keep track of who was doing what and I always enjoy trying to figure out whodunit before the end of the story.  I find the concept of loving a man responsible for killing your husband difficult yet intriguing and the author did a great job bringing the two back together after such a tragic event.

Julianne Boyce has to sell out of the family farm.  After losing her husband to a barn fire, she tried her best to keep things going but at the end of the day she just couldn’t keep things going.  With another opportunity on the horizon, selling the farm is the best option.

Mitchell Tucker is finally out of prison.  With nowhere else to go, back to his roots seems the logical place.  But home is a small town and running into the wife of the man he killed is inevitable. Finding a way to earn her forgiveness will be nothing short of a miracle.

With so many things stacked against them, finding each other amidst all the turmoil of their lives, both past and present, will be one of the biggest challenges of their lives.

I am giving After You Were Gone 4 stars.
