Review : Unforgiven by Ruth Clampett

***ARC PROVIDED BY THE AUTHOR IN EXCHANGE FOR AN HONEST REVIEW***

Ruth Clampett isn’t an author that I have read much of before and OH how that is away to change. “Unforgiven” is an emotional, raw and gripping read that I give 5 stars.

Unfortunately there will be people put off reading this because it is a book about two men but that is quite sad as they would be missing out on something truly amazing. This is a story told from both points of view so you really get a sense of each leading character and you genuinely take them to heart and feel everything they are feeling.

Two best friends have known each other for as long as they can remember and feel that they know everything about the other so when Dean finds that Jason has been hiding his true self and this makes him then consider his own feelings it provides us with a beautiful, raw, emotional and traumatic exploration.

There are some really difficult and traumatic events in this book that are dealt with wonderfully as Ruth Clampett manages to write in a way that immerses you in the story and you feel every heartbreak and emotion felt by the characters.

This is not an easy read but it is a terrific read. To be part of the journey of love, friendship and courage that these characters go through is a privilege. Without a doubt one of the most emotional books I have read in a while and I loved it. I don't think I could recommend this book highly enough.
