Okay, now I’m going to mention before I go any further that you really need to read Black Hearts, the first book to truly understand Dirty Souls by Karina Halle.
Now that we have that out the way, let’s continue. This is a dark book which suited me just fine, because I’m drawn to the darker books. Violet and Vicente, our lead characters fell in love in Black Hearts and I loved how that book played out, especially the ending but this one is so much better.
This is not a book for everyone and delves into the deep dark drug world where lies and deceit are a normal everyday occurrence. The story line goes deeper than just that of Violet and Vicente and it takes on you’re a roller coaster ride where the unexpected becomes the normal. We follow the journey of self-discovery and how their parents are linked. Vincente’s father Javier is one sick man, who’s actions even made me cringe at times.
Dirty Souls is a book that will keep you sitting on the edge of your seat. You will find yourself engrossed in a way that will have you feeling everything Violet and Vicente does. I am looking forward to buying the Sins and Needles trilogy just so that I can get more of an insight into Javier and why he became the man he is.
A great intriguing story that I thoroughly enjoyed.
