There’s an impression that this book is going to have a lot of ‘feel’ moments, you know the ones……… those heartbreaking moments that grip onto the heartstrings and pull them in tightly ? DOES IT EVER .. all that and so much more .. so much ! .
I started this story reading about a young couple who are deeply in love. Brecken’s idea is to join the service thinking it would give them an out, but unfortunately Camryn needs to finish her final year of school. Leaving, his plan is to return but things take a turn for the worse when he is taken as a prisoner of war.
Thinking the love of her life is dead, Camryn attempts to move on but her life also takes a turn she wasn’t anticipating. When Brecken returns, us as the reader are drawn into the emotionally charged story of what happens next..
From that moment on whatever battles previously fought are nothing more than a mirage as these two beautifully broken people fight their way back to each other. The struggles, scars and courage that Brecken and Camryn live through radiate of the pages, drawing their audience in so that they are living through those moments with them.
A powerful story that you can’t help but fall in love with.
